stuff I get payed for

I did a comic for a Hungarian company. It's about customs and all sorts of funny stuff...
I didn't put up any speech bubbles, the text isn't that interesting. I drew it by hand but a lot of changes had been made with the wacom tablet as well as the coloring.

MOME Master Id

Our schools master program will have a commercial, so we students had the task to come up with ideas for it. The short vid had to give you the feeling that MOME gives a wide range of opportunities in a lot of industrial arts like fashion, design, photo, animation etc...
But we didn't have to show this info so directly, we had the chance to just come up with a visually interesting idea that gets the viewers attention. Because the lack of time I reused my character designs from last year:)

And here's the board:

An old couple is fishing, suddenly they catch something.
It's a magical goldfish with sparkles and stuff...
The fish conjures up stuff like a plasma tv, a set of clothes or a brand new car.
The old lady is happy about this.
The fish spits out a new house and a lot of random objects, the old fisher feels annoyed...
So he kicks the fish back to the ocean.
The wife's not happy, fisher is. But the fish starts glowing from underneath the water.
Huge MOME MASTER logo brakes out from the water. end

This film will probably never be made so don't worry! :D

Hungarocomix

I did a poster for a Hungarian comics festival. Finally I'm allowed to post it so here you go!

New project

I'll do most of the visuals for an upcoming school animation project. The story will take place on the set of a fantasy film.

These are the first sketches where I tried to capture the world and the characters:

Designing the backgrounds was always a hard task for me since I always preferred making characters. But I had a couple of ideas how I wanted it to look like. I got some inspiration from
a Frank Frazetta book I brought this summer.

These will be the main characters:
I tried to make them simple without losing the core elements of fantasy characters.

So this is the whole crew director, busty victim chick, the good guy and the bad guy...

These are some of the visual concepts which also tell the story:
the story (which the teacher wrote us, so we don't have to come up with it) is about a film shooting or a premiere of a play where somehow the dude who plays the badguy turns out to be fighting the other actor for real. In this random situation the woman actor who was basically playing the victim has to save her "lovers" life.
So the saved becomes the savior and vice versa...

In my version of this tale the kid with the bad hair steals the last sandwich from his fellow actor who gets pretty mad at him and the rest is all seen in these pictures.

(ouch)

The film will probably be made by this december, yay!

"How Can That Be True..."

Some bits from my sketchbook. The last one's a study I did for a possible upcoming animation project.

My Influence Map

I saw this the other day on WJC's blog. I thought it would be fun to collect my top influences. So here they are, the dudes who's stuff I watch the most when doing comics and stuff...

Click here and make your own map from the template!

Good Luck!

page 1 colored

I thought I should publish the totally finished first page here. Hope you dig it!

Page 1 INKED!

Today I had to go to school to waste my whole day instead of working on thsi comic. But finally I finished the inking of the first of 4 pages! (a little Guy Davis stuff by the side to help with the blacks:)

DINOSAURS, CAVEMEN AND THE F***ING COLOSSEUM..!

...in this preview of my newest comic iin the making.

Some shitty photos I did with my phone of the comic I'm working on. Today was penciling day, tomorrow hopefully will be the day for the lightbox and the inking so the day after tomorrow I can finally color the whole shit and send it just before the deadline. Sounds pretty impossible, but I hope it'll still work out the way I planned it. Inked pages, comin' up!

New NONAME 4 pager

I'm working on a comic for a europian anthology. It will be a four page story under the theme morning, day, evening, night. I just finished doing the storyboards but deadline is pretty close so I'll have to start drawing pretty fast, Stay tuned! Pencil samples coming up!

Life over 60 (untranslated...yet)

Even if it didn't win the contest I got a surcharge for the stuff. The story isn't such a big deal, I didn't have time to translate it yet but I'll definietly swich this version with a translated one once I have time to do it. I think it worked out pretty well as a comic. I tried to learn some inking from Bruce Timm's pinups and comic art as well as from Dan Clowes (coloring was a thing I took from Ghost World). The task of the contest was to make a comic that shows the positive side of old age.

And Last but not Least a song that matches my comic in some ways
When I Get Old by the Descendents!!!

Hellboy losing hair at a young age

I always wondered why Hellboy was frustrated by being baldy right from the start, not to mention Abe...

60+ Preview

First two pages of the comic I'm doing about old people. I think it'll be good. I'll upload a translated one after the whole competitions over.

Studio and other stuff

Some pics of my messy room and sneek peek at the project I have to finish by tomorrow. I'm pretty behind so I'll have to pull my shit together if I want to do the six pages with the coloring by tomorrow noon. I'm inking with brush which is an extra difficulty factor. I prefered using art pens and rotring radiograph pens up until this point. I have to teach myself to handle this tool!

Now back to the table folks!

60+

I'm currently working on a 6 page comic about retired older guys who have a blast doing hat ever they want to. This piece will be done for an "invitation only" competition, the first prize winner will get some money and all works ill be exhibited here in Budapest. I'll post up some inked pages in a couple of days.

Bye!

Cheers!
