I made this montage of how the characters evolved in my head from the first versions to the last ones. The early ideas look more like comic figures and illustrations rather than concepts for actual character designs. KLICK on the image to see the full pic!
And this is a character sheet. Not perfect but I didn't have time to do final versions before starting the movie.
I didn't want to post this toon i did because it's in Hungarian and I just can't attach subtitles to it, but what the hell, i'll post it anyway! I did this cartoon in school. The task was to make an animation based on sound that we collected. Most of us (like me) used radioplays as a base, and animate on that. So many of you who are not Hungarians, will not get what the shit's actually happening, which is fine, because this cartoon doesn't make any sense. The main story is about this guy who goes to the doctor because he has problems with his brain. The doc examines him by asking if he eats the soup with a fork or a spoon. When he gives good answers the doc tells him that he has a super good workin' brains. It's hard to give back the hungarian puns N' stuff. I animated with flash but I totally used it as a blank piece of paper. I drew with my wacom tablet. The backgrounds were done by my lovely girlfriend. ENJOY!
I've been pretty cruel to this blog lately. I'll try to avoid continuing that by posting up some stuff. One thing is that I just started plotting a 100 page long comic based on my Noname character (the fox). It's gonna be a pretty big project since I don't have that much time because of school, work and other stuff. Anyways I'm planning to be finishing it by the end of 2012. So it might be finished before the end of the world (just kiddin'). Until than I did this raw sketch of Noname based on a Frazetta Sci-fi character. Rest in peace man!
I did a Kirby cover for the cover (bwahahaha) of a comic critics fanzine called Buborékhámozó (Bubble Peeler). Underneath is an issue of Hate which I just brought.
David Schitter, who is a member of the Kuš! Baltic comics magazine invited me to join the exhibition of the last match. To encourage me he sent some pretty nice stuff, including an issue of Kuš. The task was to draw a little picture which is connected to the theme "the last match". This is the paper I have to draw on: I'll post p the finished work, as soon as I do it!
I'm currently half way through the coloring process of Mime act, here are some pictures. I erased the text from the balloons but the thing will be completely hand lettered.
The first preview page of my graphic novel-MIME ACT, more to come...
The stuff I always hated to do, was the coloring. That's why my colors are so simple, and easy to do. This of course does not spare me all the time because I'm not even half way through the 100 pages. The other thing is that most of the drawings were done years ago when I was about 16-17 , so these are not as good as I could do them now, but I think it may be interesting to follow how the drawings gets better as the story moves forward... (Still I had to redraw some parts...not this one)
Here are some pieces of my work on the comic I mentioned, I just finished inking and lettering the pages, now I just have to color and make the fake covers for every part of the story. For me, making the covers is a much harder process than doing a comic because while in one comic page you have several drawings that can capture the viewers attention, at a cover you have to make it as one great panel that really is good to be watching.
Years ago I won third prize in the 'under eighteen' category. This year I almost forgot about it. The deadline is near but if you want to,give it a try!
I'm currently working on my first full color graphic novel which will hopefully be published in Hungary this year. I started this project when I was about 15, but as time passed I started paying less and less attention to it. Now I'm back working with full power on redrawing some of the early stuff and correcting the dialogues at some points. I'll post more shit soon... until than: some studio shots...
I dunno maybe I like them thatat much! I started to color the sketch with my wacom tablet, but I lost interest since it didn't look good without the original line drawing in front of it.
